The Man With The Golden Vocal Chords

back in 2009, a movie called "Confessions of a Shopaholic" was released and i was immediately drawn in because of the fashion.
i never saw it while it was in the theatres, but i did rent when it came out on DVD.
i liked it so much that i went out the next day and bought it for $20! :O i don't do that very often anymore.
after i watched it again, i noticed a song in this movie. a song that was very familiar, but put in a different format. a song that was (and still is) so sweet to my ears, i could listen to it over and over again.
the song was a remake of a once popular song called "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"
this remake that i really liked was not 80's bubblegum pop, or filled with high-pitched vocals, but quite the opposite: slow, beautiful piano, accompanied by low, clear vocals.
i immediately went to itunes to figure out who sung this cover and found that it was made by a man named Greg Laswell
Greg Laswell...
Greg Laswell...
i played the name in my head over and over again so i wouldn't forget it. (because often, i forget artists that i mean to look up later )
very shortly after "Shopaholic" came out, the movie "My Sister's Keeper" came out. originally i hadn't wanted to see it, but my momma recieved it in the mail from Netflix. so i thought, "what the hey, i'll watch it"
and guess what...
the Greg Laswell song was in that movie too! :D

after that, i only lestened to the "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" song, i didn't listen, really, to any of his other songs except for Comes and Goes
a couple weeks ago, Itunes released the 69 cent songs for January 2012.
when i looked under the section for cover songs, i found a cover of This Woman's Work by Greg Laswell :))
i couldn't resist.
it was then that i decided to actually listen to more of his songs
now i have 4 songs by him (still not very many i know), but i plan to purchase all of his music.
without knowing it, i had seen Greg laswell before finding it in the "Shopaholic" soundtrack.
a while before that, my dad has heard "The way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson and immediately showed me the music video for the song.
if you've seen the music video, you know that Ingrid is and "odd" girl in a crowd of clowns, literally, but there a guy clown who likes her even though she is "different"
wanna guess who the guy clown is?
Greg Laswell♥
wah i love it :)

so there you have it.
that is how i found out about one of the best singers EVER!
i hope that everyone who reads this can appreciate him like i do

love, Katie♥
